Story Pirates

Story Pirates is a nationally respected education and media organization founded in 2003 to celebrate the words and ideas of young people. By pairing world-class teachers with first-rate actors and comedians, we offer a variety of tools to make learning more engaging and effective. Dually based in New York and Los Angeles, we are best known for the Idea Storm Program, a master-class writing workshop that brings teaching concepts to life, followed by a musical sketch comedy show featuring stories by students and performed by professional artists.

DIY is an online community for kids. We give kids tools to collect everything they make as they grow up and a place to share it.

LaLa Lunchbox

LaLa Lunchbox is a fun and easy way for kids to plan and pack lunches with their parents. It empowers your kids, teaches them to make smarter food choices and helps them learn about advance planning.
Your kids get to personalize and design their lunchboxes with fun monsters and colors, and then plan their lunches for a whole week at a time. They simply swipe their choices into their lunchbox from a large selection of fruits, vegetables, proteins, and snacks. Along the way, they learn that a balanced lunch includes items from each category. Parents can easily personalize and edit the items available to their kids.

Teach Twice

Teach Twice is a social venture that educates children and their communities through stories and the exchange of culture. In the Teach Twice model a single book—written by authors from a developing country—provides parents in the global marketplace stories to read to their children, and gives financial support to schools and students in the country from which the book came. Each book will contain an illustrated children’s story featuring a specific country. Authors and their communities will be empowered through expression and the profits from their work, while readers will learn about different cultures. One Teach Twice book enhances the education of two children and two communities that are worlds apart, yet connected through a shared commitment to education, and a desire to learn from books and from each other.

826 National

826 National is a nonprofit organization that provides strategic leadership, administration, and other resources to ensure the success of its network of eight writing and tutoring centers. 826 centers offer a variety of inventive programs that provide under-resourced students, ages 6-18, with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills. We also aim to help teachers get their classes excited about writing. Our mission is based on the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN)

The Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN) promotes the health, well-being and development of children, young people and families across South Australia by providing: support to parents in areas of parenting, health services for infants, children and young people, support for families and children with additional needs, up-to-date health information for parents, children and young people.

Room to Read

We envision a world in which all children can pursue a quality education, reach their full potential and contribute to their community and the world.
To achieve this goal, we focus on two areas where we believe we can have the greatest impact: literacy and gender equality in education.  We work in collaboration with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the life skills they’ll need to succeed in school and beyond.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run of Portland Metro is a life-changing, character development program for 3rd - 5th grade girls in the Portland Metro area. We use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to provide girls with the confidence they need in those critical pre-teen years. Each ninety-minute lesson combines running and walking games with discussions about various life skills, including healthy eating, leadership, setting goals and cooperation.

Sound Seekers

Sound Seekers is a registered charity dedicated to helping deaf/hearing impaired children in the poorest communities of the developing world. We do this by supporting projects that advance understanding of their needs and improve their access to health services, education, and social support, together with initiatives that enable children to avoid, or overcome, the effects of deafness and ear disease.
