Made In A Free World

Based in Oakland, California, the Made In A Free World team engages with individuals and businesses to build awareness and action against modern-day slavery. We provide consumers with an opportunity to have a deeper conversation with the companies that manufacture the good they purchase and use in their daily lives. We provide businesses with a way to investigate their supply chains for slave labor. Our collective goal is to use the free market to free people.

Vanishing Cultures Project (VCP)

The Vanishing Cultures Project partners with indigenous groups worldwide to safeguard cultural values and practices, collaborating to document lifestyles and traditions, compile an open digital archive, educate the public about global diversity, and fund indigenous cultural initiatives.

The Pansy Project

Artist Paul Harfleet plants pansies at the site of homophobic abuse, he finds the nearest source of soil to where the incident occurred and generally without civic permission plants one unmarked pansy. The flower is then photographed in it's location and posted on this website, the image is entitled after the abuse. 
This simple action operates as a gesture of quiet resistance, some pansies flourish and others wilt in urban hedgerows. The artist began by planting pansies to mark his own experience of homophobia on the streets of Manchester (UK) though he plants pansies for others both on an individual basis and as part of various festivals and events.

Ms. Foundation for Women

The Ms. Foundation for Women has led the charge for women's rights for almost 40 years. We were at the frontlines in 1973 and continue to fight for equity and justice today. The Ms. Foundation for Women builds women's collective power to realize a nation of justice for all.

Proud2Be Project (P2B)

The Proud2Be Project is a global community interest company, founded in June 2011 by gay twin brothers Mat and Jon Price.
P2B's mission is to encourage and support all lesbian, gay, bisexual & trans (LGBT) people to be proud of who they are. To be part of a social and cultural change that makes it safe for all LGBT people to be proud, and to educate and support the family, friends, co-workers and educators of all LGBT people.

Our team, a mix of journalists and technologists, aims to provide readers and experts with the kind of in-depth information that no other media outlet is able to offer.
