The Root Collective

http://www.therootcollective.com

The Root Collective is a socially-conscious, ethical fashion company that works with small-scale artisans and cooperatives in developing countries. We work to ensure fair pay and ethical treatment of workers in rural and urban slum communities. We also partner with nonprofits in our 10% Give Back program. We believe that a hand up, not a hand out, can change lives and break the cycle of poverty that plagues many of the communities in developing countries. To this end, we parter with nonprofit organizations that work directly in the communities where our partner artisans live.

One Young World  is a charity that gathers together the brightest young people (aged 18 - 30) from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change. At the annual One Young World Summit, young leaders debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the most pressing issues the world faces. At the 2013 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, 1,250 young people from 190 countries were joined by a prestigious line-up of One Young World Counsellors including: Kofi Annan, Sir Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington, Sir Bob Geldof and Professor Muhammad Yunus. After attending a Summit, delegates join the network of One Young World Ambassadors working the world over to effect positive change. They do this by founding their own initiatives or lending the power of the One Young World network to those already in existence. The next One Young World Summit takes place in Dublin, Ireland from 15-19 October 2014.

The Weightless Project

http://weightlessproject.org

The Weightless Project was launched to fight two parallel causes - obesity on one hand and hunger and malnutrition on the other. By converting calories burned into usable funds using cutting-edge technologies to track activity, the proceeds generated by those losing weight will be used to help those who need the extra pounds to survive. Currently the initiative is partnering with three devices – Jawbone, Fitbit and Basis, and looking to collaborate with other international health and fitness brands. Officially supported by Deepak Chopra, The Deepak Chopra Foundation and Health 2.0, this initiative is on its way to making the world a healthier place.

Build Africa currently supports 100,000 people in rural Kenya and Uganda through both education and community enterprise programmes. At the same time we support savings and loans groups, entrepreneurial skills training and other initiatives to help families secure sustainable, productive livelihoods.

World Housing

Alex's Lemonade Stand

http://www.alexslemonade.org

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $75 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 375 pediatric cancer research projects nationally

Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation

The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation is the world’s first foundation dedicated to raising awareness of the long-term, damaging effects of bullying, and funding those doing real-world work to stop it. We stand up against bullying regardless of to whom it happens. We include promoting diversity and inclusion in sports as central to our mission.
