Which heart-warming purpose do the Pope, Bill Gates, multiple organizations, businesses and millions of people in 108 countries share? They’ve all taken part in Good Deeds Day somewhere in the world, simply because they’re committed to helping others and our planet.
What is Good Deeds Day?
Good Deeds Day is an annual event, this year falling on March 29, 2020, when people worldwide are inspired to volunteer to do a good deed to improve the lives of others and positively change the world.
The vision of businesswoman and philanthropist, Shari Arison, who launched Good Deeds Day in 2007, this milestone event has evolved and grown massively as people around the world are moved to give back. Almost four million people took part in Good Deeds Day in 2019. The appeal extends to kids, grandparents, students, employers and many others, all motivated to do good by this global event.
The multilingual Good Deeds Day website reflects the event’s amazing reach, as it’s now available in 11 languages including French Kiswahili, Russian and Arabic.
What can YOU do?
The good deed you choose to do can be large or small, something you do with friends, on your own, or you can join an existing communal project.
Anything from planting a lush community garden to helping pay for a sick person’s life-changing medical care, to buying a hearty meal for a homeless person, is a good deed. Looking for more creative ideas? Check out our recent list of 52 deeds now!
