This clear, simple truth is the mission of Girl Rising, a global campaign for girls' education - of which this clip is a straight-forward yet inspiring example.
As the main tool to spread its message of empowerment, the movement produced a groundbreaking film - Girl Rising - which tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine different countries. The stories were written by a slew of celebrated writers, such as Haitian-born Edwidge Danticat and, and are narrated by nine well-known actresses including Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett. Along with the film, the organization has prepared educational materials to fuel awareness and discussion, and encourages activists to host local viewing sessions.
