Relive the Magical Day Batkid Saved Gotham City, and Stole Our Hearts [VIDEO]
Take a peek at the trailer for the documentary that recounts the time 5-year-old Miles Scott got to live out his dream
When five-year-old Miles Scott donned a cape to “save” Gotham City – aka San Francisco, he won the hearts of millions around the world. Miles, a leukemia survivor, was able to live out his fantasy and become "Batkid" for the day when the Make-a-Wish Foundation staged its most elaborate wish to date. With a little help from the likes of President Barack Obama and thousands of willing supporters, Miles got the chance to play sidekick to the Caped Crusader in a series of staged missions throughout San Francisco. The heartwarming story of Batkid went viral with the elaborate event filling social media feeds and covered on local news stations throughout the planet. Now, award-winning filmmaker Dana Nachman is in the process of completing a documentary that will capture the magic of that special day a young boy brought a city to a standstill for a good cause. Titled Batkid Begins, the doco looks set to hit the screens later this year after the film's team managed to raise the $100,000 needed to fund it through an Indiegogo campaign. Take a sneak peek at what's in store with this delightful trailer that includes footage from the day itself, interviews with the people involved as well as exclusive behind the scenes footage.
