Six-year-old Grant Pearce often gets confused with his one-year-old brother - people think they are the same age. In fact, Grant was born with a form of dwarfism called diastrophic dysplasia, which results in small stature and disproportionately sized limbs. This heartwarming video introduces a boy who is wise-beyond-his-years, spreading a message of love and tolerance.
Grant shows the camera all the things he loves to do - like dance, Skype with his cousin in England and cook. In one of the many sweet moments of the video he says that he “even loves love.” The homemade documentary follows Grant's everyday life, showing how he functions in the world facing everyday challenges due to his size. The kid is unstoppable, picking himself up when he falls and using his smarts to find a creative solution to get to where he needs to go.
Grant ends the video with some sage advice that we can all learn from, “If you see someone little like me, you’ll realize they’re just people, like everyone. Maybe smile and wave, or say hello. You never know, they may be your next best friend.”
