When the news came out that a unpublished manuscript from the late Dr. Seuss had been found, fans of the beloved children’s author were elated. A recent partnership between the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Random House Kids finds another group elated by the news - pets, the subject of Suess’ final book.

Inspired by the title of the book - What Pet Should I Get? - the ASPCA asked pet owners to tweet photos of their pets with the hashtag #WhatPet. For each tweet, the publishing house pledged to donate $1 to the ASPCA, up to a maximum of $15,000. The campaign honors Dr. Seuss’ known love of animals - the author featured many animal characters in his books and kept pets all of his life.

Pet lovers quickly took up the challenge and posted some seriously adorable photos of themselves with their four-legged family members.

Of course there were loads of beloved dogs.

As well as many deeply treasured cats.

And then an assortment collection of other, equally loved pets.
