Desmond Tutu knows a thing or two about forgiveness. As one of the spearheading members of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission that provided a platform for victims and perpetrators of apartheid, Tutu believes that forgiveness is “the way we stop our human community from unraveling."
The Nobel Peace Prize winner has teamed up with his daughter to make the act of forgiveness accessible to all with the Tutu Global Forgiveness Challenge. The free 30-day challenge is a daily email that includes healing exercises, stories from people who have been transformed by forgiveness, interviews with spiritual leaders and celebrities as well as a supportive online community. Working on the premise that there is nothing that is unforgivable, and that everyone has the capacity to forgive and be forgiven, Tutu and friends are making a sometimes difficult act and concept easier to digest and apply.
Supported by such powerful partners like Facebook, Mailchimp, Deepak Chopra, Arianna Huffington and others, the Tutu Global Forgiveness Challenge is the first event to be produced by the Human Journey. The new initiative is a co-founded venture by Tutu and Doug Abrams whose mission is to create a media and global community that will aid individuals to thrive with the help of one another.
