Presidents’ Day is celebrated on the third of February every year across the U.S. Though perhaps best known as the day the post office is closed, this federal holiday is, in fact, one of the most historic days of the year. Presidents’ Day, which falls on February 15 this year, commemorates George Washington’s birthday. As the first ever president of the United States, Washington is venerated the most important figure in American history.
