Something exciting is happening in the world of fashion; theme dressing is back. The days when you could wear the lockdown uniform of loungewear to events, concerts and parties are over. Creativity and fun dress-ups are back, as is expressing yourself through fashion, according to Fashion Magazine.
Dressing up is trending up
According to the blog Large Almond Latte, searches like “concert outfits” on TikTok are in the billions. And it seems like it goes beyond dressing up and getting fancy for an occasion. People are really embracing their creativity, even doing DIY projects to get the perfect look they were going for.
Dressing up for an event isn’t new, according to Fashion Magazine. Going to a concert wearing one of the headliner’s typical outfits or going to a movie premier dressed up as one of the movie characters was a thing for years.
Especially so when it came to rock concerts where dressing in the vibe of the artist was really common. For example, people used to wear distressed fabrics and leather when going to a rock concert. It was a tradition. But over time, the fan’s fun outfits were replaced by jackets, shirts and jeans. And as often happens with fashion, now it’s back.

The evolution of theme dressing
According to In Style, theme dressing for an event, although trending today, is still evolving and will continue to do so. But the fact is, that it is growing in popularity.
One of the reasons you may want to theme dress is the connection it creates between you and the artist. It can also make you feel part of the team and that you are a “real” fan. Or perhaps you have always loved the artist’s style and now you finally have an opportunity to wear it.
Some concert goers get extra creative and dress up based on the name or specific lyrics of their favorite song, according to Fashion Magazine. The sky's the limit when it comes to theme dressing options.
Whatever a person ends up deciding to wear, there is no denying that theme dressing for an event can be fun, especially when you do it together with friends. Sharing those pictures on social media is way cooler when everyone’s outfits coordinate and are on the same theme.
So if you are going to a concert or fun event this summer, perhaps you might want to embrace your inner DIYer and go all out.
