Now There’s TV Just For Dogs!
Leisure time for pets is leveling up.
Is your pooch feeling a bit hemmed in at home? Would you like to enrich Luna or Buddy’s downtime indoors while you’re at work in your offsite or home office space? You may be pleased to know that a new, wellness-infused solution is here to ease loneliness and the difficulties of separation. It's called DOGTV.
This is a “unique streaming service for dogs, designed to alleviate stress and anxiety throughout the day,” its website explains.
DOGTV is made by “dog people on a mission to improve the lives of dogs everywhere.“ Billed as the world’s first and only television network created specifically for dogs, this service launched in November 2021 in multiple countries including the US, UK, Australia, Brazil and France. It’s designed to keep your dog “Relaxed and happy and stimulated until you come back home.”
Canine-friendly content
Created for dogs and their owners, and available across multiple devices, its originators are convinced it's the next best thing since their dogs’ favorite food treat.
Why? Well, as our video reveals, this content has been tweaked for dogs based on insights gleaned from over 60 scientific studies in research hubs such as the University of California, Santa Barbara. The service even owns five patents on content methods.
So, for instance, the colors are toned down to suit canine vision to attract and hold the attention of dogs. Dogs also react better to objects that are moving, so the channel features constant motion on screen.

Dogs’ impressive hearing skills are well known, so the channel zooms in on a rich menu of sounds such as healing sound frequencies and positive affirmations as dogs don’y usually binge-watch shows. They do like to binge-sleep though, so every few hours, DOGTV shows content that gently stimulates dogs to move with playful, animated sequences that keep their circulation healthy and offer mental stimulation to keep boredom at bay. In addition, this “scientifically-tested” content is free of agitating sudden loud noises or distressed frequencies like whistles
And some learning has even nudged its way into programming. For instance, there’s some “gentle, low volume exposure to an array of sounds.” . Think car rides, door bells or wintery weather, “so DOG TV can help us [dogs] get used to unfamiliar sounds.”
Still, there are some things that humans and their dogs share in terms of viewing preferences, and one of them is love for the world of animals. As the video explains: “Just like you we [dogs] love to watch dogs and other animals so there are plenty of both in the programes.”
Content for pet parents too
“MYDOGTV” content, meanwhile, has been created for cooing pet parents. For your viewing pleasure, “Hundreds of fun, educational and entertaining programs for pet parents like: The Dog Chef, Road Dogs, Paws For Love, Things We Woof About, The Adoption Show and Meet The Breed,” the website explains.
Be Active With Laura Nativo is an interesting show. In it, this celebrity dog trainer teaches dog owners how to incorporate their pets into fun physical activities, ranging from swimming to kayaking. It also zooms in on boosting skills like agility and puppy training.
Kevyn Matthews is The Dog Chef! His show features healthy and tasty yet simple recipes for dogs. He owns a dedicated cafe for dogs in Baltimore, MD, where he cooks up fresh food, treats and froyo for dogs and he brings this experience to DOGTV.

Recipes on his program take in carob peanut butter cups, granola bars, and chicken jerky.
So far, pet parents have reported that their fur babies are enjoying DOGTV, and they are sharing their positive experiences on social media.
