When life gives you lemons, make lemonade - or so the saying goes. It starts with finding the silver lining in a situation, and then taking it a step further to actively change the present circumstances for the better. Below are six inspirational examples of everyday folks using their lemons to make the best out of any situation.
1. BEING STUCK ON A PLANE = A ROUSING MUSICAL PERFORMANCE
Passengers on their way to New Orleans had their flight delayed for maintenance after boarding. Sitting on a plane and not moving can make anyone fidgety. Their sticky situation rapidly improved with an impromptu performance by the barbershop quartet Port City Sound, who broke into song while everyone was waiting. The unexpected musical performance was a welcome relief, making the grounded plane experience one to enjoy.
2. KID’S DOODLE ON THE WALL = TRENDY HOME DESIGN STATEMENT
It’s usually a good thing when a child expresses their creativity, but when it happens to be in marker on the living room wall, well, creative expression takes on a new meaning. This family transformed their child’s public doodle into a very tasteful wall decoration that integrated their kid’s “artwork” into an impressive home detail.

3. CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT = TRUE BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP
First graders Zac and Vincent are best friends. When Zac got diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy treatments, his best friend Vincent decided that he was going to dull the blow for his friend. Vincent surprised his friend Zac by shaving his head in order to “make Zac feel like he isn’t the only one without hair.”
4. BROKEN BONES = COLORFUL CASTS
Breaking a bone requires a substantial recovery time and usually a cast to help mold and heal the bone. Instead of wearing their casts as a heavy burden, these folks amped up their creative juices, turning their casts into artistic masterpieces full of color and life! here's a blank canvas waiting for inspiration.

5. WAITING FOR LUGGAGE = A SPIRITED DANCE PERFORMANCE
You had a long flight and you are exhausted. You trudge over to the luggage carousel when all of the sudden you see a spirited woman dancing her heart away. That is what these LAX passengers got to witness when Angela Trimbur - who was bummed that she wasn’t going home to see her family over the holidays - hopped over to the airport to give passengers a bit of levity and joy.
