Amazing Cat Comes to the Aid of its Elderly Owner!
This loyal pet meowed to tell neighbors to get help.
There are many stories about pets that, thanks to their loyalty and determination, helped save the lives of their owners when they needed them the most.
This is the story of Piran, a cat in Cornwall, the UK, who recently became a true hero when his elderly owner fell down a hidden ravine by a large maize field. Piran’s meows alerted the stricken woman’s neighbors and literally saved the day for this 83-year-old survivor.
The elderly owner had disappeared near her house, and was being searched for by Bodmin police, People Magazine revealed.
A neighbor, who had been informed about the woman's disappearance and who was herself looking for her missing friend, heard the little feline and knew she had to follow its lead. "The cat is very attached to her, and he was going back and forth in the gateway and meowing, so I decided to go and search the maize field," Tamar Longmuir told Sky News.

The woman had been stuck lying in a stream for hours after she fell 70 feet through barbed wire. The searchers noticed Piran was meowing incessantly in a particular area, and it didn’t take long for them to realize that his owner must be nearby. But the embankment was very steep and access was extremely difficult given the uneven terrain, local Bodmin police explained in a tweet.
They immediately called for assistance from emergency services, and a rescue team lifted the woman up. She was then taken to the hospital by air ambulance, and is now stable and in good spirits, according to the police.
"Without the cat waiting at the gate to that field, it could have been hours later that I or anyone else would have checked in there," Longmuir told Sky News.
This afternoon Officers from Bodmin were tasked to conduct a search for a missing 83 year old female.

Was Piran really trying to save its owner or was it a mere coincidence? According to a study, felines actually do bond with their owners and display distinct attachment styles toward them.
On the other hand, they can recognize their human caregivers through scent, touch, and sound, the site Petfinder reveals. A study by scientists at the University of Tokyo actually proves that cats can tell recordings of their owner’s voice apart from those of strangers.
As for Piran, he became the most famous cat in town. Not only did he save his owner's life but he had also taught the world a very important lesson: you don’t have to be big or strong to become a hero. Just raising your “voice” can make a big difference.
So next time you hear a cat meowing, listen very carefully because that charming and sweet little creature could be trying to tell you something important; something so big that it could even save a life.
