Today marks Valentine’s Day, an American holiday that celebrates romantic, mushy, amorous and everything-in-between love. 3. TWO ARTISTS FALL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN
Performance artist Marina Abramovic was caught off guard during her installation at New York's MOMA in May 2010. She was the centerpiece of the exhibition - a series of encounters with members of the audience: each guest sat in front of the artist, and Abramovic and the guest simply stared at one another. Throughout the encounters, Abramovic managed to maintain a solemn, focused expression, devoid of emotional outbursts. That is until an unexpected guest arrived - her old time lover, the German artist Ulay.
